Strategizing Your Chess Moves
"If you don’t know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else." - Yogi Berra
Do you have a plan for where you want your company to be in three years? Have you identified your strategic targets (key financial and operating metrics)? Do you want to establish additional offices in the US or internationally? Do you want to target different verticals? What products or services will you be selling to achieve your financial targets and will this include new products and services? Will your core customer that you sell to change? Will you have a different distribution strategy? Do you have the cash to get you where you want to go?
As part of your Strategy, it’s important to map out these goals to form a "blueprint" of who, what and where you want your company to be in three years. You have the freedom to evaluate the gap analysis between where you are today and the changes required in people, strategy, culture of accountability and cash flow– with the Rockefeller Habits in place, to arrive at your destination in 3 years.
In our next blog, we will discuss the importance of the first review session and understanding when to make your first "chess moves" to start your journey.
